Hey guys, I'm writing a spellsword character named Kaelen who carries a cold-magic curse. Every time he casts a spell, the frost spreads slightly across his physical body, slowly turning him into solid ice.

Does this feel too cliché? How can I add unique layers to make his struggle feel authentic?

The frost-spreading curse is beautiful! To make it unique, give him a specific trigger—maybe the frost only spreads when he uses magic for selfish reasons?
