CharHaven keeps character notes, images, relationships, timelines, and world lore together instead of scattering them across documents and chat threads. It is for adults, it is free to join, and it works for any genre.
Only a name is required to begin. A summary and every other field can wait, and new characters are private until you choose to share them.

Use the parts that fit your character. Nothing needs to be finished before you save.

Fields for personality, backstory, appearance, traits, and relationships, plus a free-form section for anything that does not fit.

Keep a setting’s history, factions, geography, and lore together. Link characters when they belong to that world.

Browse roleplay pitches by genre and writing style. Read each pitch for availability, characters, and boundaries, then discuss expectations with the writer.

Enter visual Realm rooms to move, chat, and pose as a character. Use Groups and Forums for community discussions and roleplay threads.

Search the profiles creators have chosen to publish. Filter by name, species, tags, or when they were last updated.

What we commit to
In plain terms: we explain what the site does, publish material changes, protect account data with reasonable safeguards, and give you a way to report problems. We will not claim a small community is huge or promise outcomes we cannot control.
- Your work stays yours
- CharHaven uses only the licence described in the Terms to host and display work you upload. You can export or delete it from your account.
- Feedback is read
- Members can report problems and suggest improvements. Feedback shapes priorities, but it does not guarantee a feature will be built.
- Safety controls you can see
- Community rules, mature-content labels, blocking, and reporting reduce unwanted exposure and give moderators evidence to review. No online space can promise that abuse will never happen.
- Support and maintenance
- Use the contact page to report outages or problems. Keep your own copies of important writing and original images as well.
