CharHaven is an adults-only website for original characters and roleplay. Keep profiles, art, lore, relationships, and worlds together, then choose what stays private and what other people can see.

Yes. A free account includes character profiles, worlds, gallery uploads, the community feed, and roleplay listings. Paid plans raise some limits and add cosmetic or advanced customization options.

Click "Register" on the top navigation bar. You can sign up with an email and password or use one of the supported social sign-in options. After registering, you'll be guided through onboarding to set up your first character.

Standard free accounts include up to 8 character profiles, 5 world pages, 10 realm rooms, and the full community. Silver Supporter raises that to 30 characters and 20 worlds; Gold Patron removes the character and world limits entirely. Both add larger uploads and more customisation.

Choose Create Character from your dashboard or navigation. Only a name is required; add appearance, personality, backstory, images and world links when you are ready. New characters start private. If you started in the free sheet builder, choose Continue with my sheet, sign in, then Use my sheet to fill empty fields. Review the form and choose Save.

Yes. Open the Character Sheet Builder to write your own notes or edit an example, then copy or download a .txt sheet. Save on this device keeps an optional browser copy for seven days; changes are not saved automatically. Restore my sheet fills empty answers from the most recent saved copy or the sheet you continued with in this tab during the last 30 minutes. Remove saved copy clears both stored copies. A free account is needed to save a character profile on CharHaven.

Yes. New characters start private, so only you can see them. Each character has its own visibility setting: Only me, Anyone with the link, or Everyone. You can change it at any time from the character edit page.

A Dossier is a compact, shareable reference card for your character — useful for quick introductions in RP threads, partner pitches, and forum posts. It pulls key traits and a summary image from your full character profile.

Open your character's edit page and scroll to the Gallery section. You can upload reference sheets, concept art, and illustrations directly. Image counts and upload limits follow your plan and the current site settings; check Membership for the current comparison.

Yes. The character relationship system lets you link characters as allies, rivals, family, mentors, or custom relationship types. These links appear on each character's profile and help visitors understand your universe.

Use the Matchmaking page to browse partners filtered by genre, writing style, character type, and availability. You can also follow creators from the Discover page, join Realm communities, or reply to forum RP recruitment threads.

CharHaven supports all creative fiction genres — fantasy, sci-fi, romance, horror, slice of life, historical, mystery, fanfiction, and more. The tagging and discovery system lets you filter by genre, species, tone, and writing style.

Realms are visual rooms where characters can walk, chat, use poses and emotes, and move through portals to linked rooms. Browse the Realms directory to visit public rooms; access depends on the room owner's settings. Use Groups or Forums for community threads and roleplay recruitment.

Yes. The chat button on every page opens CharHaven Chat in a panel, with community servers, channels and direct messages. The full app is also at charhaven.com/chat. Name colours, badges, titles and avatar borders from the Haven Shop show there too.

From your dashboard, click "Create World" and fill in your world's name, description, genre tags, and lore summary. You can add a banner image, link characters who inhabit the world, and invite collaborators.

Yes. World owners can invite contributors who can add characters and lore to a shared world. This is ideal for collaborative fiction groups, tabletop RPG campaigns, and shared universe projects.

Haven Coins (HC) are the in-platform currency used to buy cosmetic items in the Haven Shop. Coins are earned, not sold: you get them from the daily bonus, arcade games, community events, achievements, and quests, and supporters receive a monthly allowance.

The shop sells cosmetic items including profile borders, card backgrounds, chat username flair, custom titles, emotes, badges, card skins, and character effects. None of these purchases affect gameplay or discovery rankings.

Permanent items never expire after purchase. Limited-edition seasonal items have an availability window shown in the shop, but once purchased they remain in your inventory permanently.

Open the Shop and go to your owned items. Use Equip or Unequip where those buttons are available; equippable cosmetics use one item per slot. Owned emotes, Realm backgrounds, and decorations are available in their respective tools without a separate equip step.

Creators retain 100% intellectual property rights to all content uploaded to CharHaven. You can export or delete your character records at any time. CharHaven does not claim ownership of your creative work.

Use the Feedback page. Say what you were doing, what you expected, and what happened instead, and include your browser or device if you can.

CharHaven uses content labels, automated safety signals, reports, and human review. These controls reduce harm but cannot prevent every bad interaction. You can block a member or report content from the relevant page.

Open Edit Profile and use Delete My Account in the Danger Zone section. It removes your account, characters, worlds and posts straight away and cannot be undone. Copies held in backups expire on the schedule described in our Privacy Policy. If you cannot sign in, contact support.
