01 Authorization & Access
These protocols govern your interaction with the CharHaven network. Access is granted contingent upon your continued adherence to these rules. If you do not align with any part of these protocols, you must terminate your uplink immediately.
02 Account Custodianship
- Maintain the sanctity of your credentials; report any suspected breach to Command immediately.
- You are the sole operative responsible for all actions synchronized through your account.
- Command reserves the right to terminate access for breaches of these protocols or our community guidelines.
03 Content Standards & Age Appropriateness
CharHaven is an 18+ platform. All content uploaded, shared, or displayed on CharHaven must comply with the following standards:
- General Content: Visible to all users by default. Must be appropriate for audiences aged 18+.
- Mature Content (18+): Must be tagged with the mature content flag. Hidden by default. Only accessible to authenticated users aged 18+ who have explicitly consented.
- Prohibited Content: The following is banned regardless of tagging — child sexual abuse material (CSAM), sexual depictions of minors (real or fictional), non-consensual sexual content, real-world violence/gore/terrorism, hate speech, doxxing, and promotion of self-harm.
CharHaven reserves the right to remove any content that, in our sole judgment, violates these standards. For the full list of content rules and behavioral expectations, see our Community Guidelines.
04 Age Requirements & Minor Safety
- You must be at least 18 years of age to create a CharHaven account.
- Users under 18 cannot access mature content under any circumstances. Mature content is filtered, blurred, and age-gated by the system.
- Adults who solicit, groom, or otherwise engage in inappropriate contact with minors will be permanently banned and reported to law enforcement.
- If we discover a user is under 18, their account will be immediately terminated and all associated data deleted.
05 Content Sovereignty & Licensing
You retain ownership of the original content you create and upload to CharHaven. By posting content on the service, you grant CharHaven a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, cache, reproduce, format, distribute, and display that content solely as needed to operate, improve, secure, and promote the service. This license ends within a commercially reasonable period after the content is deleted from active systems, subject to backup retention, legal obligations, and dispute-resolution needs.
06 Intellectual Property Safeguards (DMCA)
CharHaven respects creative sovereignty and complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). If you believe your copyrighted work has been used without authorization on our platform:
- Submit a formal takedown notice via our DMCA Takedown Form
- Or send a written notice to admin@charhaven.com
Upon receiving a valid DMCA notice, we will promptly remove or disable access to the infringing content and notify the uploader. Users who receive a takedown notice may file a counter-notice as described on our DMCA page. Repeat infringers will have their accounts terminated.
07 Restricted Conduct

08 Membership Plans & Resource Allocation
Some CharHaven features are offered as paid memberships, supporter perks, or virtual goods. Prices, benefits, and eligibility rules may change over time and will be described on the relevant purchase page before checkout. Payments are processed by third-party providers such as Ko-fi, PayPal, Stripe, or other processors we may enable from time to time. Cancellation stops future renewals where supported, and paid benefits generally remain available until the end of the active billing period unless the purchase is refunded, reversed, or terminated for fraud or abuse.

10 Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the operator of CharHaven, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
- Informal Resolution First: Before filing any formal claim, you agree to contact us at admin@charhaven.com and attempt to resolve the dispute informally in good faith for at least thirty (30) days.
- Binding Arbitration: If informal resolution fails, any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved by binding arbitration administered under the rules of a recognized arbitration body in the jurisdiction of CharHaven's operator. The arbitration shall be conducted on an individual basis — you waive any right to participate in a class action, class arbitration, or representative proceeding.
- Small Claims Exception: Either party may bring qualifying claims in small claims court in the jurisdiction of CharHaven's operator instead of arbitration.
- Jurisdiction: For disputes not subject to arbitration, you consent to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the courts in the jurisdiction of CharHaven's operator.
11 User Content Responsibility
CharHaven is a platform, not a publisher. Users are solely responsible for the content they create, upload, share, and distribute on the Service. CharHaven does not endorse, verify, guarantee the accuracy of, or assume responsibility for any user-generated content.
- You represent and warrant that you have the right to post all content you upload, and that such content does not infringe any third party's intellectual property, privacy, or other rights.
- You acknowledge that other users' content may be offensive, inaccurate, or otherwise objectionable. CharHaven shall not be liable for any user-generated content, whether or not it violates these Terms.
- CharHaven reserves the right — but has no obligation — to monitor, review, edit, or remove user content at our sole discretion and for any reason.
12 Platform Immunity
CharHaven operates as an interactive computer service provider. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, including Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act (47 U.S.C. § 230) and equivalent platform immunity provisions in other jurisdictions:
This does not limit our right or obligation to remove content that violates these Terms, applicable law, or our Community Guidelines.
13 Account Termination & Data
- You may terminate your account at any time via Settings → Delete Account.
- Upon deletion, your profile and user-facing content are removed from active public access within a reasonable processing period, subject to technical queues, dependency cleanup, and lawful retention needs.
- Some records may remain in backups, audit logs, fraud-prevention systems, or unresolved moderation records for a limited period after deletion.
- CharHaven may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these protocols, create safety risk, abuse platform systems, or expose the service to legal or operational harm.
14 Virtual Currency (Haven Coins)
- Haven Coins are a virtual currency used exclusively within the CharHaven platform.
- Haven Coins have no real-world monetary value and cannot be exchanged, refunded, or transferred outside the platform.
- Haven Coins may be used to purchase cosmetic items, profile upgrades, and other platform features as available.
- Unused Haven Coins are non-refundable and will be forfeited upon account deletion.
15 Membership Plans & Refunds
- Memberships and virtual purchases are billed through the checkout flow shown at the time of purchase. Taxes, processor fees, and currency conversion may vary by region or payment method.
- If a subscription renews automatically, you can cancel before the next renewal date to avoid future billing. Ending a plan does not retroactively refund already delivered access unless required by law or expressly approved by support.
- Refund requests are reviewed case by case. Approved refunds may result in the removal of purchased perks, coins, cosmetics, or related account benefits.
- Fraudulent payment activity, abusive refund behavior, or unauthorized chargebacks may result in purchase restrictions, perk removal, account suspension, or permanent termination.
16 AI-Generated Content
CharHaven may offer AI-powered tools (such as AI Studio) for character creation and content generation. By using these tools:
- You retain ownership of content you create using AI tools on the platform.
- CharHaven makes no warranty regarding the accuracy, originality, or fitness of AI-generated output.
- AI-generated content must comply with the same content standards as user-created content, including mature content tagging requirements.
17 Third-Party Services
CharHaven integrates with or links to third-party services including Discord, Google, Ko-fi, PayPal, Stripe, Tenor, Pusher, hosting providers, analytics vendors, and CDN providers. Those services operate under their own terms, privacy notices, and availability commitments. CharHaven is not responsible for third-party outages, policy changes, content, or processing practices outside our control.
18 Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless CharHaven, its administrators, and affiliates from any claims, liabilities, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the service, your violation of these protocols, or your infringement of any third party's rights.
19 Protocol Amendments
CharHaven may update these Terms from time to time to reflect product changes, legal requirements, security needs, or operational improvements. When changes are material, we will make a reasonable effort to notify users through the site, email, or in-product announcements before or when the changes take effect. Continued use of CharHaven after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
