What to put in a profile
Another writer should be able to read the top of the profile and know how to start a scene with your character.
- A short summary. Who they are and what matters to them right now, in one or two sentences.
- Personality cues. A few traits that change how they talk and decide.
- Goals. What they want, and what is in the way.
- Boundaries. Themes and content you do and do not want to write.
- Setting context. Enough of their world for a stranger to join in.
Keep the main hooks near the top. Longer lore can follow for readers who want it.
